The Queensland Blue Light Blue EDGE program was a massive hit for term four with 18 youth graduating in Murgon.

Participants enjoyed a day at the Gympie Aquatic Centre as a part of the Blue EDGE Longest Day celebrations. They received a pair of new kicks and a certification of achievement for their hard work and dedication to the program.

A big thank you to all the volunteers and helpers that took an active role in the program which is an excellent opportunity to engage with the students in a friendly atmosphere. Thank you also to the Murgon Aquatic Centre, PCYC South Burnett and inspiring guest speaker Shirley Simpson from CTC.

Blue EDGE (Educate, Develop, Grow, Empower) is an 8-week program of physical training designed to extend a young person’s mind and physical capability. The program also includes career education, motivational speakers and mentoring with a view to having youth actualise their potential.

Program outcomes include the development of personal relationships and building of rapport between Police, QBLAI Volunteers, participants and their families.

We believe that the interaction between young people, the Police and Blue Light is making a positive and sustainable difference in people’s lives.
