Our Board

OUR BOARD

The QLD Blue Light Association Executives are made up of the following members

Warren Parker

President

Senior Sergeant Warren Parker has been a member of the QLD Police Service since 1988 and is the Officer in Charge at Crestmead Police Station. Warren has been actively involved with QLD Blue Light since 2000 and has held the position of President for the last 8 years. Warren has been responsible for strategically aligning the organisation to the QLD Police Service and has focussed the organisation on three pillars, reducing youth recidivism, empowering youth to reduce rates of domestic violence and educating youth to reduce the road toll. We have been able to achieve this alongside our traditional values of providing alcohol and drug free activities to our youth across QLD.

Leanne Eggins

Vice President

Leanne, a retired Sergeant who dedicated 38 years to the Qld Police Service before retiring in 2017, first joined QLD Blue Light by organising Blue Light Discos and other initiatives on the Northside of Brisbane. With over 30 years of board membership, Leanne has held various positions and her initial involvement stemmed from recognising the necessity for young people in the community to participate in safe activities and to foster constructive relationships between youth and law enforcement. Her goal has always been to positively impact the lives of young individuals.

Geoff Sheldon

General Member

Geoff's tenure on the Blue Light Board began in 2016, reflecting his extensive volunteer experience spanning diverse organisations. He dedicated around a decade to the QLD Homicide Victims’ Support Group and presently holds the position of Vice President (and Life Member) at the QPS Museum. With a Doctorate in Policing and Security, he currently engages in casual employment with multiple universities, focusing on course development and marking duties. Geoff recently concluded his role as a Superintendent within the QLD Police Service after a distinguished 42-year career, predominantly in investigative roles across the state.

Steve Maney

General Member

Steve is a retired Police Inspector having served with the Qld Police Service for over 41 years. He has been involved in Blue Light activities since the late 80s at Caloundra, Beerwah and other locations across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie. In the course of these activities and during his police service he has been a strong advocate and supporter for the implementation of early intervention programs and fostering positive and productive relationships with young people. He has been a member of the Board since 2020.

Susan Beattie

General Member

Susan has held multiple senior management roles across the public service and community sectors, focusing on driving cross-system improvement and reform, including in relation to domestic, family and sexual violence, child abuse, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug related harms. Many of these roles have highlighted the importance of early intervention and prevention, as well as the value of community policing, in supporting positive outcomes for young people. Susan joined the Blue Light Board in 2023, and values strengths based, collaborative partnerships when working with young people at risk.

Stan Gallo

Emeritus

Stan is a former Police Officer, having served for 15 years with the Qld Police Service before moving to corporate, becoming a Partner and leader in the provision of Forensic Services for global consultancy firm BDO. Stan is a highly regarded risk specialist who combines proactive risk management, investigative and technology skills to assist organisations in aligning Governance, Risk and Compliance. Having stepped back in 2016 after an 8-year role on our board, Stan continues to support the Qld Blue Light Association as an emeritus board member, providing advice and support to contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation.
