QBLAI’s new Domestic & Family Violence Primary Prevention Program is on track to go live in 2022. We have run several pilot programs and been busy fine tuning the content and delivery based on feedback from participants, teachers and Police.
ELEVATE is a primary prevention program designed to empower emerging generations to make better life choices in their relationships and potentially halt the escalation of D&FV in todays society.
Delivered in schools all across Queensland, the program will educate young people of the social, personal, physical and emotional harms caused by Domestic and Family Violence.
Participants will be given practical advice on identifying the various forms of D&FV, appropriate responses to D&FV and how to seek help for both perpetrators and victims.
Program Objectives:
- Increase participants ability to identify the various forms of D&FV.
- Increase understanding of how to respond appropriately to D&FV.
- Guidance on how to seek help for both victims and perpetrators.
- Build resilience and confidence in emerging generations to expect and give respect.
Our initial funding for 3 pilot programs was through the Lord Mayors Charitable Trust. We are privileged to have received further support from the Small Steps 4 Hannah Foundation. Established by Sue and Lloyd Clark after the tragic deaths of their daughter Hannah and her 3 children, the foundation has provided $25,000.00 for us to deliver another 10 programs.
